Harp and Violin with Lucy Gallup and Warwick Adeney

This harp and violin duo present a vibrant selection of music from Bach and Spohr, through to the romantic music of Saint-Saens and a tango by Piazolla.

Performance Day Workshop

Come for a day of performance practice and helpful feedback with Queensland Symphony Orchestral harpist Jill Atkinson.  This is an invaluable oppotunity to get some experience performing harp in a supportive environment while benefitting from Jill's experience in teaching and performing.

Latin American Demonstration with Sandra Real

This will be an event for harpists and Latin American music-lovers alike!  Sandra Real will be demonstrating some of the traditional techniques and music of the arpa llanera, or traditional harp from Venezuela and Colombia.

Scottish Concert with Margaret Knight

  Scottish Concert with Margaret Knight

Greatly sought after as a performer, Margaret has performed at Russia's Winter Palace, in the presence of Japan's Empress, and for much of Europe's royalty, including Britain's Queen.  She specialises in singing to her own harp accompaniment.

Christmas with Charisma!

Christmas with Charisma!

HSQ joins up with Brisbane harp/cello/flute trio Carisma to get people in the Christmas spirit!  The concert will be both a celebration of HSQ members' achievements throughout 2007 and a sneak preview into Carisma's new CD, Lily's Eyes.

Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam
  

This famous collection of poems, by 11th Century Persian poet and philosopher Omar Khayyam, will be performed with accompanying music by a quintet of Iranian and Australian musicians

The concert will commence with an overview of the traditional Persian instruments used, followed by the actual performance of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, interpreted through music, verse, and song.
